Introduction Ripose (Rapid information processing orientated systems environment) provides a protocol through which a common understanding of business terms can be reached across an entire organisation. See our web site for more details - http://www.ripose.com.au The Ripose technique and compiler helps minimise the effort identifying business requirements and maximises the productivity of the deliverables. The Ripose compiler v2.6.1a has updated the automating strategic planning methods via new concepts. It provides support for a grade 1 Ripose architect - RA1. Release 2.6.2 provides the RA2 with the functions to create a knowledge base to support the strategic planning statements developed by the RA1. Release 2.6.3 provides the RA3 with the functions to create the business functions and systems to support the knowledge bases developed by the RA2. Future releases Further releases to the Ripose compilers have been planned (expected release dates as below) to support the other grades of Ripose architects. Features in this release To deliver a workable protocol, the Ripose compiler v2.6.3 provides the following functions: 3.1 Features of release 2.6.3a 1) Messages 3.1.1 Messages All messages have been categorised. See the help system for details 3.2 Features of release 2.6.3 1) Define the major business functions (facets) 2) Design the necessary systems to support the business functions 3) Resource management 4) Provide a request management system 3.2.1 Define the major business functions This function will enable a RA3 to identify and define the high-level data flow or business function to support the information model. It provides the RA2 with the feedback mechanism to validate the information model. 3.2.2 System design This function will enable a RA3 to identify and define the second level data flows (or systems), required to support the information model. It also provides the capability to define system releases. This function also provides the RA2 with the feedback mechanism to validate the information model. 3.2.3 Resource management This function is provided as a beta version. It will enable a RA0 and RA1 to create the organisational support structures to manage the Ripose repository. The support structures provide a full resource lifecycle management capability. These include the organisation chart, staff tables (roles, skills, role/skills matrix), requisitions for human resources, resumes, hiring, contract renewals, resignations and termination of services. 3.2.4 Request management This function provides any level of RA and any staff member with the ability to record new features, enhancements and defects in any system release. It also provides the capability to describe the features and benefits for any role. 3.3 Features of earlier releases Please refer to history readme.txt files. eg readme262.txt 4. Ripose help function - setup This version of Ripose compiler uses a web browser to provide help. However, before help can be used, ensure that the Ripose compiler understands the following: i) The full path and name of your browser of choice. Default - "C:\Program Files\Netscape\Communicator\Program\netscape.exe" -browser ii) The full path and name of the Ripose help file. Default - C:\Program Files\Ripose\help\ripose\help.htm To alter the settings above, do the following: 1) Launch Ripose 2) Point the mouse to the Help menu option and select the 'Help setup' option 3) If you are using another browser other than Netscape, or the path name is incorrect, change the path name & the browser name 4) If you have installed Ripose compiler on a drive other than C:\, change the path name 5) Accept your changes by pressing enter You should now be able to use the Ripose compiler help function. 5. Installation This section will provide you with a brief guide to installing the Ripose compilers, depending on the following: . Initial installation - evaluation . Initial installation - client . Upgrades 6.1 Initial installation - evaluation If this is the first time that you are installing the Ripose compilers please follow these instructions: . Files . Installation sequence 6.1.1 Files Please ensure that you have downloaded the following zipped files to a temporary directory: . RiposeCore.exe - contains the core directories and files . Runtime.exe - contains the Omnis evaluation runtime . Compiler.exe - contains the latest Ripose release . Database.exe - contains an evaluation data base . Help.exe - contains the Ripose help files 6.1.2 Installation sequence To successfully install the Ripose compiler an associated files, please carry out the following steps in the exact sequence: 1) Double click on the RiposeCore.exe file & follow the instructions 2) On completion of step 1, double click on the compiler.exe file 3) Double click on the database.exe file 4) Double click on the help.exe file 6.2 Initial installation - client Before undertaking the installation, please read the Ripose software license agreement. If you do not agree with the contents of the agreement, please do not install the software. If this is the first time that you are installing the Ripose compilers as a client please follow these instructions: . Files . Installation sequence 6.2.1 Files Please ensure that you have downloaded the following zipped files to a temporary directory: . RiposeCore.exe - contains the core directories and files . Runtimen.exe - contains a valid Omnis runtime (n = copy number) . Compiler.exe - contains the latest release . Database.exe - contains your valid data base . Help.exe - contains the Ripose help files 6.2.2 Installation sequence To successfully install the Ripose compiler an associated files, please carry out the following steps in the exact sequence: 1) Double click on the RiposeCore.exe file & follow the instructions 2) On completion of step 1, double click on the Runtimen.exe file 3) Double click on the compiler.exe file 4) Double click on the database.exe file 5) Double click on the help.exe file If you are installing multiple copies of the compilers, deploy the follow the following files on the appropriate computer . RiposeCore.exe . Runtimen.exe (n = copy number) . Compiler.exe Carry out steps 1 through 3 on each computer. 6.3 Upgrades If you are upgrading from one release to a higher version, please follow these instructions: . Files .
